Oxfam Buchshop, Stuttgart

This is the place for when you are craving some reading food and are on a tight budget. Although the English section of this second-hand bookstore is not very large (but still quite extensive compared to most Stuttgart bookstores), it is always changing. Actually, it is updated a lost faster than English sections in “normal” Stuttgart bookshops. The prices are affordable, usually between 2 and 4 euros for a paperback. The selection is mostly fiction, some classics, memoirs, and a few non-fiction books. What I really like is that they try to keep up with the fashion and suggest what is currently in vogue, be it Alice Munro or Kazuo Ishiguro. I got my Dickens, Feynman, and an interesting memoir by David Lodge here, all for under 4 euros each.

They are open Mo – Fr: 10.00 – 19.00 and Sa: 10.00 – 18.00. Payment by card is only possible in case the amount is over 10 euros (so, if you buy a handful of books:)
