This bookshop has been a landmark in the famous Latin Quarter, a student district of Paris, since 1845. Located in Boulevard Saint-Michel, it has outdoor stalls and several floors inside with a huge choice of second-hand books (paperbacks, art books, comics, mangas), CDs, records and DVDs at affordable prices. Locals adore this store – grannies, housewives and hipsterish students spend hours browsing the shelves. Although most of the selection is in French, they have an English corner where it is possible to find a decent read among the cheesy love stories. I picked up a Penguin paperback of Madame Bovary for 2 euros! The bookshop will also buy back your old books, CDs, DVDs, vinyls, comics and mangas.
Open from 10 to 22:30 Monday to Saturday and from 13 to 21 on Sundays, Boulinier is a great place to browse at leisure and pick up second-hand books. Here is a link to their website.
